About
Hi, I’m Louisa Wells. I’m a photographer and art director based in New York City.
Of This Place is a personal archive of images, notes, and studies gathered over time. It holds fragments from different places, including New York, Europe, and elsewhere, through photography, observation, and occasional drawings.
It’s an extension of how I tend to move through the world. I rarely experience something once and leave it at that. I return to it, think about it, and look again. This is where those returns live.
Most of what’s here comes from being in motion, arriving somewhere new, noticing what’s around me, and pausing long enough for something to register. Not everything is meant to be a full story. It’s more about the moments that linger.
Of This Place isn’t meant to explain or document everything. It’s a quieter record of being somewhere, and coming back to it later with a different kind of attention.
It’s for anyone who tends to notice, light in a room, how a place feels, and the in-between moments that are easy to miss but hard to forget.
A record of being somewhere.
